Desk Phone Sales Continue to Decline

According to research by Canalys cited in a recent edition of Comms Dealer magazine, sales of desk phones declined by 19% in 2009. Now, this might be an artefact of the recession, but it may also indicate a shift to mobile communications in the workplace. While there will always be a place for a deskphone, not every employee really needs to be tied to a desk and, what's more, not every employer wants to continue to pay for both a mobile and fixed device. Recession or not, we expect to see further decline in the desk phone market.
