Mobile GeoFencing Solution
Introduction
Mobile GeoFencing Solution
Gintel's GeoFencing solution is a simple addition to the service portfolio of an MNO that allows them to offer a range of branded location-based services to consumer and enterprise customers.
Geographic-based charging allows MNOs to offer value packages that compete with fixed residential or office solutions, driving fixed-mobile substitution and increasing mobile use and demand.
GeoFencing applications can be delivered across all segments and attract regular, repeatable subscriptions, enabling rapid ROI, increased service differentiation and subscriber retention.
Rich Location Capabilities
Mobile location capabilities are used to determine the position of a mobile terminal. Once located, appropriate service logic is applied to deliver the desired service.
GeoFencing is used to set up services that are based on the presence of users within defined geographical areas. For example, the home, one or more offices, or another desired area. With different user profiles, service capabilities can be triggered for individual users depending on whether they are within one or other of the defined location zones.

Offer A Range of Location-Based Services
Home Zone / Happy Zone
MNOs can define areas in which differential calling charges are applied. If a subscriber is in their home, a reduced tariff might be applied, or a special tariff can be applied to a nominated office location, allowing subscribers to benefit from reduced call charges.
Geographic Billing
MNOs can apply different tariffs when users of a Mobile Centrex solution are in different locations. The Geofencing service can be added to a Mobile Centrex plan as an optional extra, allowing MNOs to leverage their deployed base and upsell services for incremental revenue.
Fixed Mobile Substitution
By setting lower tariffs to calls made from the home, MNOs can compete more effectively with lower-priced fixed-line offers and stimulate use of the mobile rather than fixed line, driving Fixed Mobile Substitution.
